Romeo -the words filter
i filter words into fine liquid- filtrate and serve it to those that thirst of words and yearn for a fine liquid.

THE ROAD WE WALKED by Nartey Romeo Akwetey

We stood a distance
And watched the road others walked
From that far it looked all rosy
We struggled just to have our feets imprinted on it
Thinking we left our struggles behind
But those were the realities on our minds
Like a dream come through
Our impulsion to get there was fulfilled
Liittle did we know that all we saw was a mirage
Of all the prestige attached to it
We were obliged to pay a price for it
But what then do we do?
Do we go back a settle in our old feeble tents?
Certainly no, that will be cowardice
We have come too far to settle for less
Your strength my strength and mine yours
Together with one accord
We will leave our footprints as we had conceive
Side by side we will walk this road
With one strength we will lift one another
And shake the dust off
With the heart of lions we will never faint
We shall cross to the other end
And when we get there
With sweat and smiles on our faces
